The Auto-Drain reduces maintenance. During the distillation process, minerals and other nonvolatile impurities left behind in the boiling chamber gradually accumulate. Regularly draining this build-up of residue and water scale is an important part of maintaining your distiller. If you have access to a floor drain, the Auto-Drain simplifies this process by automatically draining the accumulated residue, reducing the need to manually drain the boiling chamber periodically.
